Located in the French department of Savoie, the ski resort of Val d'Isere is part of the Vanoise Alps. This ski resort is a mecca of skiing enjoying an international reputation. Created in the 1930s (the first hotel and first ski lift between 1931 and 1934), Val d'Isere has continued to develop for the greatest pleasures of winter sports enthusiasts as accomplished athletes.
Takes place every year tests World Cup alpine skiing. Val d'Isere is one of the flagship stations of the Olympic Games in Albertville in 1992 and in 2009 hosted the world championships in alpine skiing.
